An exciting opportunity for Graduate Rural Chartered Surveyor to be part of a Land Agency team in Cheshire. The role would predominantly be assisting the existing team with the management of a range of rural and commercial property portfolios but also assisting with valuation instructions, compulsory purchase & compensation and other rural related professional services as necessary. The position would provide a great opportunity to obtain a wide and varied range of experiences, ideal for a candidate training to become an RICS member.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To report directly to the directors
  • Provide the skills and resources of a Graduate Rural Chartered Surveyor / Land Agent
  • Fulfil the role of assistant rural estate manager as directed to include:
    • assisting with tenancy / lease management including preparation of new agreements
    • assisting with negotiating tenancy/lease renewals, rent reviews
    • cost management
    • electronic information and document management to ensure all tenancies/leases and titles are accurately recorded
    • property inspections
    • assisting with the delivery of maintenance in accordance with budgets and client instruction
    • assisting with the negotiate of maintenance contracts with external contractors
    • administering supplier invoices
    • assisting with the management of contract farming operations for landowners, liaising with farm contractors, administering supplier and contractor invoices
    • assisting with the delivery of statutory obligations and compliance
    • assisting with the implementation of smaller refurbishment and conversion projects
    • Assisting with valuation instructions
    • Assisting with compulsory purchase & compensation instructions and other ad-hoc professional instructions as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree level qualification
  • APC candidate working toward MRICS status

CORE KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Rounded knowledge of general surveying skills
  • Financial acumen and budget management
  • IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet)
  • Good level of numerical reasoning and analytical skills.
