An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a commercially focussed Estate Manager with a hands-on approach and a clear management style to optimise the performance of all elements of, and generate new opportunities for, one of the great traditional Highland Estates.
Steeped in history, Cawdor Estate is a dynamic and growing estate business, extending to approximately 42,000 acres comprising a diverse range of commercial, environmental, and community-orientated activities including a grouse moor, commercial partridge shoot, holiday cottages and Shooting Lodge accommodation, commercial and amenity woodlands, in-hand arable enterprise, significant residential property portfolio, commercial let properties, agricultural tenancies, and renewable energy projects.
The Position
Reporting directly to Lord Cawdor and the Estate Trustees, responsibilities will include the management and enhancement of both the traditional and entrepreneurial elements of all aspects of the wide-ranging rural and property portfolios. You will also work in collaboration with colleagues across the Estate enterprises to drive efficiency and unearth new development opportunities, ensuring the land and buildings are utilised in the most financially and environmentally sustainable way, equipping the Estate for the dynamic opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the UK rural economy.
The Candidate
- An MRICS qualified rural Chartered Surveyor, with a track record in managing and enhancing a complex range of property assets, and an innovative mindset in creating new opportunities
- A proven track record in motivating and leading a team to deliver results, demonstrating an open leadership style, and building trust.
- As a key representative of the Family and Estate, you will be an engaging and professional character with strong communication skills, able to interact and develop strong relationships with tenants, local authorities, and people in broader communities to reinforce the productive and collaborative environment within which the Estate operates.
- A self-motivated and driven individual who thinks strategically and has the tenacity to see demanding and long-term projects through to fruition, and who is also sensitive to heritage and the ethos of a multi-generational family estate.
- Energetic and resourceful with a forward-thinking outlook, an enquiring mind, reliable and organised and able to balance multiple priorities.
