Alvie & Dalraddy Estates is a 13,740 acre landholding, partially in the Cairngorm National Park, 5 miles south of Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands. A family-owned enterprise with a forward-looking approach, the Estate continues to diversify a traditional Highland business, offering an increasing array of commercial, environmental and community focussed activities. These include agricultural, residential and holiday accommodation, recreation and commercial property interests, woodlands, sporting, renewable energy, quarrying and Dalraddy Holiday Park that provides a variety of holiday accommodation and related activities.

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a commercially focussed Estate Manager with a modern, innovative, and hands-on approach to manage, enhance, and optimise the performance of all areas of the Estate’s enterprises ensuring its long-term future as a profitable and sustainable business and a family home through succeeding generations.

Reporting to the owners, this role presents a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to both the Estate’s operational efficiency and its long-term trajectory, having direct responsibility for driving some key areas of the Estate’s operations.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have the necessary energy, enthusiasm, business expertise and vision to support the delivery and growth of the business whilst respecting the traditional and unique nature of the Estate. Important candidate attributes include:

  • MRICS qualified (ideally) with a proven track record in the management of rural estates with significant commercial activities.
  • An engaging and friendly character with strong leadership qualities. People focussed, someone who leads by example and who is confident and can interact and develop strong relationships with tenants, stakeholders, and the broader community.
  • Commercially and financially astute, with a keen eye for both maximising revenue opportunities and day to day operational effectiveness.
  • Able to explore, scope out and deliver key projects to budget in a timely manner alongside other demands.
  • Motivated and inspired to make a positive impact on the local environment and community.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, to include a house.
