A career enhancing opportunity to join the inhouse team and become a key player in the management of the modern, forward thinking, and diverse Escrick Park Estate, which extends to 7,350 acres and is situated 6 miles to the south of York.

Alongside the award-winning residential and commercial property business, the Estate’s activities and enterprises encompass a very active approach to contract farm management, environmental management and markets, energy generation, as well as leisure and hospitality. The Estate is keen to build on its success and pursue fresh opportunities, including within the development, energy, and environmental market sectors.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Estate’s Managing Partner, Beilby Forbes Adam, and focus on a wide range of activities, ensuring the smooth operational running of the business and identifying opportunities on how to move the business forward. This dynamic and broad role has significant potential to grow over the years to come.

THE POSITION

  • Overseeing the small but dedicated in-house teams across the Estate’s property, maintenance, and administrative functions, alongside working closely with its third-party providers to ensure efficient day-to-day operations and a strong team spirit.
  • Responsibility for the commercial and residential portfolios, the contract farming arrangements, the equine course, the dog run and land hire for weddings and events. Specific attention will be paid to maintaining the environment to the highest standards and within budgetary constraints.
  • Seeking to streamline and optimise returns from the various income streams.
  • Developing and nurturing the in-house team, to reinforce a positive and collaborative culture.

THE CANDIDATE

  • A few years’ experience in rural estate management; MRICS or CAAV qualifications beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of residential, commercial and agriculture tenancies and enthusiasm for learning more across a variety of enterprises.
  • You will be someone who relishes the opportunities inherent within a progressive rural business that is able to take a long-term perspective and has the appetite to develop further.
  • You will be an enthusiastic, engaging, and diplomatic individual who is a strong communicator.
  • You will have the ability to multi-task across a wide range of enterprises, and the willingness to turn your hand to anything.
  • You will have an entrepreneurial outlook, strong financial acumen and be comfortable adopting new IT systems.
