 A forward thinking, diverse and growing rural estate business, the Milton Estate is part of the Fitzwilliam Estates, centred on the magnificent Milton Hall and its surrounding parkland, home to the Naylor-Leyland family, located on the outskirts of Peterborough.

The Estate comprises approximately 20,000 acres of agricultural land and woodland, together with a residential, retail and commercial property portfolio and the Fitzwilliam (Milton) Hunt. With Peterborough being one of the fastest growing cities in the UK, the estate has an active focus on new development opportunities to enhance income streams and make a vital contribution to the nurturing and growth of communities within which its assets sit.

The position

Reporting to the Chief Executive, a career progressing opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Estate Manager to take a pivotal role assisting with the management and optimisation of both the traditional and entrepreneurial elements of all aspects of the wide-ranging rural property portfolio, and to help deliver the next stage in the evolution of this historical and highly attractive estate for future generations.

The candidate

  • An MRICS qualified rural Chartered Surveyor, with around 4-10 years PQE, knowledge of farming and agriculture and a comprehensive track record in managing existing operations and able to identify areas for improvement and new revenue generation on diverse rural estates.
  • A self-motivated and driven individual who thinks strategically and has the tenacity to see demanding and long-term projects through to fruition, and who is also sensitive to heritage and the ethos of a multi-generational family estate.
  • As a key representative of the Family and Estate, you will be an engaging and professional character with strong communications skills, able to interact and develop strong relationships with tenants and people in the local communities to reinforce the productive and collaborative environment within which the estate operates.
  • A team player, energetic, resourceful, reliable and hands on with good attention to detail, organised and able to balance multiple priorities.
