Estate/Asset Manager – Litton Properties – Bakewell, Derbyshire

Bakewell, Derbsyshire
REF: 10050

A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Estate Manager to join the in-house property team of a successful, multi-generational family-owned business based in Bakewell, Derbyshire, in the heart of the Peak District.

The Group has a diverse property portfolio, currently predominantly commercial, as well as residential and rural property, holiday cottages, fishing, development opportunities, renewable energy and a range of other assets. Alongside managing and enhancing the existing portfolio, there is a clear strategic ambition to expand the Group’s rural and agricultural interests.

The role combines hands-on property and estate management with asset management, project delivery and strategic development. It will suit an ambitious rural surveyor who is interested in the wider commercial drivers of property and keen to take on significant responsibility across a diverse and growing portfolio.

A Broader Opportunity

This is an opportunity to build on your surveying and estate management experience while becoming involved in the wider commercial and strategic direction of a growing private business.

Reporting to the Asset Management Director and CEO, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Take responsibility for a significant and diverse property portfolio
  • Help shape the Group’s strategy for expanding its rural and agricultural holdings
  • Support the re-establishment of the farming business
  • Become involved in development, renewable energy, natural capital and hospitality projects
  • Develop your responsibilities as the business and portfolio continue to grow

With a relatively small inhouse team and direct access to senior management, this is a role where your ideas and decisions can have a visible impact.

The Person

We are looking for a qualified surveyor with relevant estate or property management experience who is commercially aware, proactive, and keen to take on more responsibility.

Most importantly, you will be someone who is ambitious, entrepreneurial and keen to take ownership. You will enjoy working in a relatively small team, be comfortable operating with a degree of autonomy and have the confidence to contribute ideas and make decisions.

This could suit a rural surveyor looking to move into a diverse client-side business, broaden their experience beyond core rural surveying and become more closely involved in commercial and strategic decision-making.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary of £40,000 – £60,000, depending on experience, with some flexibility around the advertised range.
  • Company Car Allowance.
  • Profit and performance-related Bonus Scheme.
  • Pension contributions.
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Health Cash Plan.
  • Professional training and development opportunities.
