An excellent opportunity for an ambitious, motivated and forward-thinking Estate Surveyor to join the estates team at Broadlands in Hampshire, a traditional multi enterprise family business centred around Broadlands House, home to the Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma.

The estate extends to approximately 4,550 acres and encompasses a wide range of assets, including let farms, residential and commercial property interests, woodlands, corporate events, in hand shoot and fishing and film locations. There is a strong focus on development projects and opportunities to diversify the estate business whilst respecting and maintaining the Estate’s traditional values.

Located on the edge of Romsey, Hampshire, the estate is approximately 7 miles north of Southampton and 15 miles south of Winchester. Positioned within easy reach of the South Coast, it benefits from excellent road and rail connections and convenient access to the M27 and M3 motorway networks.

Responsibilities will be varied. The successful candidate will report to the Estate Director on a wide range of estate management matters involving all aspects of this progressive business. Key candidate attributes should include:

  • MRICS/FAAV: ideally recently qualified or with a few years’ PQE with estate management experience. Applicants who are not qualified but can demonstrate relevant experience will also be considered.
  • The ability to take responsibility for projects and work independently when required, as well as balancing multiple priorities.
  • Being a team player, resourceful, enthusiastic and practical, with excellent interpersonal skills enabling the applicant to build relationships and communicate with a wide range of people.
