REF: 10011

A unique opportunity for an ambitious Chartered Surveyor to join Savills Mineral and Waste Management team, who have a first-class reputation within this specialist sector covering the whole of the UK and operate out of regional offices in York, Chelmsford, Winchester, and Cambridge. They provide professional advice on a wide range of minerals issues to landowners (private and institutional), and other operators with interests in minerals and waste management property, such as multi nationals, SME’s and local authorities.

The role

This is a diverse opportunity and a chance to learn a new sector, with fantastic promotional prospects. Based in York, responsibilities will be wide ranging and will include:

  • Minerals estate management on behalf of a large institutional client with a significant minerals portfolio. This will include landlord and tenant work such as agreeing terms for new leases, negotiating rent reviews, and acquisition and disposal advice.
  • Development – identifying new mineral and waste opportunities, promoting sites and agreeing terms for lease or sale of assets.
  • Valuation, professional consultancy, and expert witness on mineral trespass.

The candidate

We are looking for an MRICS Chartered Surveyor, ideally with a few years post qualification experience in the property sector; there will be flexibility on the level. You will be a proactive and energetic individual, commercially focussed with good communication and negotiation skills. Experience in the minerals and/or waste sector is a bonus but not essential. A competitive salary package is on offer commensurate with experience.
