A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Strutt & Parker’s energetic and entrepreneurial Land Management Department in Guildford, part of a modern, about to be fully refurbished, multi-disciplinary, office which enables a good crossover of referrals between departments including Residential Sales, Residential Development, Planning, Building Surveying and Architecture. As a Land Management team, they work closely with colleagues in the Lewes office ensuring a very strong presence across Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, and Berkshire.

The Land Management Department advise on a host of rural consultancy matters on behalf of private and institutional landowners. They have strong admin and property management support within the team enabling them to focus on more complex projects, and they undertake a blend of asset and estate management, as well as associated professional advice, including valuations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take responsibility for managing and leading junior team members.

Examples of the type of clients/work the team are involved in include:

  • High value, private family-owned Estates, who are longstanding clients of Strutt & Parker, in some of the most beautiful parts of Surrey and Sussex, comprising a diverse mix of commercial, residential, and agricultural properties, providing the opportunity to get involved in significant projects such as the redevelopment of farm buildings, strategic planning opportunities and generational change.
  • An existing workload of rural valuations; the team are on the panels for the major banks
  • Getting involved in significant projects for major and well established institutional and corporate clients, such as tenancy restructures, planning applications for alternative uses, as well as interesting commercial property projects such as filming and large-scale storage
  • A pipeline of CPO and infrastructure work
  • Natural Capital audits on estates

The successful candidate will be a competent and experienced qualified rural surveyor (MRICS and CAAV) with a strong track record in managing and enhancing a complex range of property assets. You will ideally be an RICS Registered Valuer, or able to become one.
